2015 Family Wealth Forum

Thursday, January 29 – Monday, February 2, 2015
Rancho Santana, Nicaragua

What Family Offices Should Be Doing with Their Cash Now…

This is a chance for you and your family to spend time with Dad and me… our strategic partners… your fellow members… and the rest of the Bonner & Partners Family Office team in the stunning surroundings of Rancho Santana.

The theme of the upcoming meeting in Nicaragua is: What Family Offices Should Be Doing with Their Cash Now…

And we’ve put together a fantastic lineup of experts to speak with you about the world’s best investment opportunities…

Our natural resources investing strategic partner, Rick Rule, will be coming to Nicaragua. Rick is the founder of Sprott Global Resource Investments and one of the smartest, most successful resource investors in the world.

Our strategic partner in the real estate sector, Ronan McMahon, will also be joining us. Ronan is an expert in international real estate investing and is a trusted advisor to my family when it comes to real estate deals.

Although both Rick and Ronan are regular contributors to the Strategic Review, this is the first Bonner & Partners Family Office event in 18 months that both Rick and Ronan have been available to attend, so we’re particularly looking forward to seeing them in Rancho Santana.

Plus, we’re very excited to announce two new speakers this year: Braden Copeland and Amber Lee Mason.

Braden Copeland has been an analyst and investor for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Bonner & Partners earlier this year, he served as the editor-at-large for Stansberry & Associates Investment Research. In his Building Wealth newsletter, one of the publications we have added to our growing stable of investment-related publications aimed at those currently in wealth-building mode, Braden reveals the fundamental principles and time-honored strategies that anyone can follow to start building wealth right away.

Amber Lee Mason has previously served as executive editor at Stansberry & Associates Investment Research. She is currently the editor of Daily Wealth Trader, one of the world’s most popular daily investment advisories. And I’m pleased to announce that Amber has recently joined our team at Bonner & Partners as managing director. So you can expect to hear more from Amber in the future.

And my dad, Rob and Chris will also be speaking with you about what’s happening in the global economy and markets… and how those developments affect our core wealth-building strategies.

This isn’t going to be your run-of-the-mill conference. It’s going to be far less formal… and it will include a lot of exclusive research on the best ways you can put your family’s cash to work in today’s markets.

But don’t worry. We haven’t forgotten about the family side of the equation. We’ll also be dealing with the core family office strategies… including family governance and the critically important subject of family relationships.

I’ll be speaking on family matters, along with my stepmother Elizabeth, our family relationships strategic partner, Dr. Joanne Stern, and our family governance strategic partner, Joseph McLiney.

These presentations will be focused on how you can get your family on track to stay together and preserve wealth over the long term.

And because this event is a “forum,” you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback… and we’ll all be available for informal discussions, too.

An Incomparable Setting

I can’t think of a better venue for this event than Rancho Santana…

Dad invested in Nicaragua… alongside some of our colleagues at Agora… 11 years ago. Together they bought 2,700 acres of beachfront on the Pacific Coast and developed Rancho Santana.

The Pacific Coast is one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the world. My family owns a beachfront house at Rancho Santana on a beach called Los Perros. It’s a house with lots of happy memories for me and my brothers and sisters.

I’m amazed at how much Nicaragua has changed since we first started going there as a family. It has come a long way since Dad first invested there.

I personally love spending time at Rancho Santana. I’ve traveled a lot. And I’ve never seen a stretch of coastline as stunning as this.

My Dad and Elizabeth are spending a few weeks in Rancho Santana at the start of the year, and they’re looking forward to welcoming the Bonner & Partners Family Office team and members to their “home away from home.” The visit to Casa Los Perros was one of the highlights of the trip last time we were there in November 2013.

A Grand Celebration

The team at Rancho Santana has been very busy since our last visit. For those who have joined us there in the past, you will be delighted to see that The Inn at Rancho Santana is now complete… and it’s time to celebrate!

We’ll be throwing a party to mark the opening of the Inn… and you’ll be one of the first to lay eyes on it at this exclusive event.

The two-story inn — which features its own art gallery, courtyard, café and lounge — is tucked intimately into the hub of all the ranch has to offer, including renowned farm-to-table restaurant La Finca y el Mar. And it’s just steps from Playa Santana, one of the ranch’s five beaches.

The Inn’s architectural design, interiors and landscaping all draw inspiration from the breathtaking coastal locale. It’s truly a seaside sanctuary.

And there are other new developments, including a new informal clubhouse at Playa Los Perros.

Our Events Manager, Emma Walsh, is working with the team there to incorporate this special event into our itinerary during the trip, and she tells me they have a few surprises up their sleeves for the event in January!

A Chance to Unwind

Just because we’ll be hard at work during the day doesn’t mean we won’t have time to play. If you’ve attended any of our previous events you know that we also like to have some fun…

Dad has arranged for some of the family’s Malbec wine to be shipped to Rancho Santana from our vineyard in northern Argentina. And you’ll be blown away by the quality of the locally sourced food. In fact, lots of the herbs and vegetables used are grown right on site in the organic gardens at Rancho Santana. The food is truly first-class.

Plus, you’ll get to enjoy all of the natural splendor and activities that Rancho Santana has to offer – from surfing and stand-up paddle boarding to nature walks and equestrian tours. Or maybe you’d prefer to relax with a cocktail by the Sand Dollar pool, have a manicure at the Spa at Playa Santana or take part in some of the yoga and fitness classes that are available at Playa Santana throughout the week.

And there are plenty of half-day and one-day tours to nearby tourist attractions that the team at Rancho Santana will be happy to arrange for you. We’ve built in a full day into the itinerary for you to explore Rancho Santana and its beautiful surroundings. One thing’s for sure, your free time will be well spent while you are in Rancho Santana

You’ll also have a chance to spend time with Dad and me… our strategic partners… and the rest of the Bonner & Partners Family Office team.

These meetings are a great way for you to meet your fellow members… develop new contacts… and socialize with like-minded people.

And don’t worry about coming along just to satisfy your curiosity… or to simply take a mini-vacation at Rancho Santana. Your level of participation is up to you.

Bring Your Family Along

These members-only events are designed so that you can bring your spouse, your kids and even your grandkids along with you.

Family members that attend these events will be more engaged in your family office project… and more likely to succeed at preserving wealth for multiple generations.

So, the more the merrier. Last year, one member and his wife brought their four children, their spouses and several grandchildren along. What a wonderful way to work towards your family’s goals while spending valuable time together.

If you want to do the same, we’d be delighted to welcome the rest of your family to Rancho Santana. (One important caveat: Accommodation is limited. So the sooner you register, the better – especially if you are planning on bringing along family members.)

The Verdict Is In…

The feedback we receive on our events is incredibly rewarding. We know that members who attend truly benefit from them.

Here’s what past attendees of our events have said:

Most enjoyable, valuable and rewarding being able to share experiences with others.”

“Very informative, personal and inviting speakers! All topics covered were interesting and eye-opening. I feel much more knowledgeable.”

“Beautifully located… serene, calm environment to work, understand and learn in.”

“Lots of insight into how to develop new ways to look at things. Very insightful – great learning experience! Thank you!”

“For someone entering this ‘real life’ after coming from university all of the advice was incredibly invaluable.”

“The caliber of people attending the reunion was very high and for me to be exposed to the wealth of knowledge at my age is phenomenal.”
