Emma Walsh here… I’m the Events Manager at Bonner & Partners Family Office.

My job is to organize the various members-only events we host throughout the year.

And as Will has already mentioned, by far the most valuable membership benefit is the opportunity to meet and get to know your fellow members.

We host a number of meetings each year.

The first of these was the Global Partners’ Reunion in 2010 at the Bonner family place in northern France, the Château de Courtomer.

Our natural resources investing strategic partner Rick Rule, founder of Sprott Global Resource Investments, joined us that year. As did Bill’s Swiss private banker. And Bill’s German business partner, who now runs his own family office.

We typically return to Courtomer every summer for what is always an insightful, relaxed meeting of minds and friends, old and new.

Last June, Capital & Crisis and Mayer’s Special Situations editor Chris Mayer gave us his thoughts on international investing. And fellow member and Gowdie Family Wealth editor Vern Gowdie spoke to us about passing on his vast knowledge of investing and family wealth to his young family.

We also hold an annual event, the Family Wealth Forum, at Rancho Santana, a luxury resort Bill is involved in developing on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua.

Last year, 12 members and 20 of their spouses and kids joined Bill, Will, Chris and me for a two-day meeting all about creating a culture of wealth in your family.

Two of our strategic partners, Joseph McLiney, a fifth-generation member of the McLiney private banking family, and Dr. Joanne Stern, an expert in family relationships, were there…

So was New York-based family office expert, Arthur Bavelas. Arthur was last year’s guest speaker.

With five stunning beaches, on one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in the world, and some of the best cuisine Nicaragua has to offer, Rancho Santana provides the perfect environment for your family to spend time together – relax by the pool, go horseback-riding along the beach or surfing, explore all the amenities Rancho Santana has to offer.

The next Family Wealth Forum is coming up in early 2015 – January 29 – February 2. And along with Bill, Will, Chris, Joanne and Joseph, the line up also includes our natural resources investing strategic partner, Rick Rule; our strategic partner in the real estate sector, Ronan McMahon; Braden Copeland, editor of one of Bonner & Partners newest publications, Braden Copeland’s Building Wealth and Amber Lee Mason, editor of DailyWealth Trader, one of the world’s most popular daily investment advisories, who has recently joined the Bonner & Partners team.

And we also offer family workshops, where you can come with your family to learn more about working together as a family towards creating your lasting family legacy. In 2013, we held two workshops – one in France about strengthening family bonds, led by our family relationships strategic partner Dr. Joanne Stern… and one in Vancouver about getting the right family governance structures in place. And we held a workshop in France last June, led again by Joanne Stern, about how affluence can affect our children and their life choices.

We’re also planning on holding more events in the US in 2015. These will allow you to meet with… and learn from… your fellow members – all of whom have the same goal of family wealth preservation as you do.

You Are Cordially Invited…

As a member, you’ll receive invitations to all upcoming events.

You’ll also be able to watch video recordings of events you are unable to attend. We’ll be posting them on the members-only website.

As we confirm details of each members-only meeting, we’ll send your invitation by email. So please look out for those in your inbox throughout the year.

We like to keep all our meetings small. The typical limit is about 50 attendees. So be aware that, once we send out invitations, places fill up fast. The best way to secure a place is to book promptly.

One other thing: We encourage you to bring along family members – your spouse, your kids… even your grandkids. It’s a great way to make sure other members of your family are onboard with the family wealth project.

How to Use the Club Room

You can also keep in touch with fellow members… post questions to the group… and receive answers… via our private online forum, the Club Room.

All you have to do is go to the “Community” tab on the website and click on “Club Room” in the left-hand menu.

Then you can click on any of the six Club Room categories… depending on what your question is about.

Once you’re in the right category, just scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill in the fields provided to start a new conversation.

To respond to an existing conversation, just click on the conversation topic and respond using the fields provided.

The Club Room is strictly for members only. So, please feel free to put frank questions to the group… and respond in a frank manner.

That’s about it from me for now… but you can email me on [email protected] any time if you have questions about any of the community-related aspects of your membership.

Next, you’ll hear from Chris Hunter again about the Bonner & Partners Family Office publishing schedule.

Best regards,

Emma Walsh
